Temple Road

MANORGLEN

Winner of a limited competition for a scheme design on a u-shaped infill site on Temple Road, Dublin 6, flanked by existing late Victorian and Edwardian dwellings and St Phillip’s church, all protected structures.

The design expresses an architectural story suggesting the manner in which the site might have evolved had development progressed by degree over the last century.

Two houses face Temple Road – a contemporary dwelling reading as a mews to the adjacent protected structure and a three storey dwelling in the style of the neighbouring large villas. Three Arts and Crafts style houses group around a new central open space to the rear, arranged in the manner of a stable yard and coach-house enclosure.
